ALL REGISTERED DENTAL SURGEONS
Practicing Certificates will be issued based on the provision of 40 hours of Continuing Dental Education and payment of the requisite fees.
Under the Dental Act (1974) of Jamaica, Registered Dentists are required to apply for and be issued a Practising Certificate.
Registration for Practising Certificates starts April 3, 2017
Existing Certificates will expire March 31, 2017. Consequently, Dentists are required to complete Form A1 of the Dental Act (1974) and pay the prescribed fee to obtain new Certificates for 2017/19.
To facilitate the process of certification Dentists may pay the prescribed certification fee of $20,000.0 (this is for two years) to the Account of the Dental Council of Jamaica as follows:

Once the payment is made at the respective bank, copy the said payment advice (bank deposit slip) and upload it to jamaicadentalcouncil@gmail.com. or physically forward evidence of such payment to the Office of the Dental Council.

Scope of Practice – Guidance
The Dental Council has established in accordance with the Dental Act 1972, a “Scope of Practice” for Dental Surgeons.
A “Scope of Practice” for Dental Auxiliaries will be announced soon.
